Shanghai Shengshi Medical Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 1998 and its technological foundation comes from the team of Professor Dai Kerong in the Department of Orthopedics at the Ninth People’s Hospital in Shanghai. It is a specialized company engaged in the research, development, production, and sales of customized artificial joints (the only one approved by the National Medical Products Administration) and orthopedic products such as shape memory alloys. It was one of the earliest companies in China to conduct research and application of 3D printed models and implants. In April 2016, Suzhou Kangli Orthopedic Instruments Co., Ltd. acquired Shanghai Shengshi Medical Technology Co., Ltd. as a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Suzhou Kangli Medical Group is a specialized enterprise that integrates research, design, manufacturing, and sales of Class II and Class III orthopedic implants and related surgical instruments. The group consists of several subsidiaries, including Suzhou Kangli Orthopedic Instruments Co., Ltd., founded in 1994, Hunan Hengtian Biotechnology, acquired in 2014, Shanghai Shengshi Medical Technology, acquired in 2016, and Suzhou Yunzhi Medical Technology, established in 2016. Since its establishment, the group has developed a diversified layout in the medical field, forming eight major product lines in trauma, spine, joints, cranio-maxillofacial, hand and foot surgery, thoracic surgery, pediatric orthopedics, and bovine bone-bioimplant fusion.
